After graduation from Pilot Training Class 56M, I was sent to Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX to fly B-25s. Then I went
to Sewart AFB and flew C-123s. I spent three months in the arctic building the Dew Line system. It became obsolete by the
time we finished.
After service I joined Merrill Lynch as a stockbroker for twelve years. By that time I had five sons and so to keep them
out of trouble I changed careers. I bought a marina on beautiful Glen Lake and gave them great summer jobs. I loved every
minute of the marina business but it generated very little money. So I sold the business. In 1997 I retired from AG Edwards
as branch manager. I have been fully retired ever since.
My son Dave is flying me to the 56M reunion in his own plane. He was born in San Angelo on the day I received my wings.
I spend summers in Traverse City, MI and winters in Venice, FL and consider myself one very lucky person.
I was married from 1953 to 1982. And then remarried from 1988 to the present. I have 6 children, 15 grandchildren, and
4 great grandchildren.
I am looking forward to seeing you all at the 2011 reunion.
