James Trice

In mid Dec 1957, Nancy and I left Houston with two babies (Jim & Beth) and a 1954 Chevy to return to Hollywood, FL. Early in January 1958, an entry-level job was accepted with General Motors (GMAC) starting in Ft Lauderdale. In January 1960, I was transferred to Miami where the stay was only a year; then we went back to Ft Lauderdale. During the year we were blessed with another child (Karen), and a couple years later, Cindy arrived.

Going forward from that point, the story is simple; working hard, raising a family and moving. In mid 1964 we moved to Tampa for 5 years during which time Patti came along. Then in January 1970 we moved to southern Florida (Miami). The stay was a short 17 months, then off to New York City in September 1971 for training in Executive Office. The picture didn’t change much, Pittsburgh followed in 1973, San Francisco in 1978, Detroit in 1981, and finally Baltimore in 1982. Each move resulted in greater responsibilities and new adventures. Retirement was elected in June 2002 after 34 years. The years were good to us, 5 children, all college graduates from various schools around the country and 16 grandchildren. The five oldest are in college now. In addition, we have 5 year-old triplets and 12 year-old twins. After living in the area for 23 plus years, we decided to stay put. Ten of our sixteen grandchildren live in the area. There are lots to do because the geographical location and transportation facilities are good. The weather is pretty good also.
